Tulsa Ballet’s 2022-23 Season to Feature World Premieres of Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance and New Work | Ballet

TULSA– The Tulsa Ballet announces its 2022-2023 season, a season that artistic director Marcello Angelini has designed to “kick the ball out of the stadium.”

After a pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season and a 2020-21 season full of challenges from masked dancers and socially distanced performances, Angelini knew he had to create a bigger season than ever.

Two world premiere story ballets, three new short pieces, the return of one of the most successful story ballets the company has ever commissioned, a work by an Emmy-winning choreographer, a short entertaining, all framed by the new successful production of Nutcrackerr make up Tulsa Ballet’s upcoming 2022/2023 season.

“As I began planning for Tulsa Ballet’s 2022-23 season, the overriding thought, the main idea, the driving force behind what I wanted our offerings to be was clear: kick the ball out of the stadium,” Angelini said.

“After the 2019-20 season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic, a very difficult 2020-21 season filled with short works, performed mostly at Studio K with masks, and the uncertainties of the current season, I wanted next season to follow the old adage ‘Aim big or go home’. And big we went.
