In the 19th century, a current of romantic thought emerged in literature and the arts, creating a new relationship with nature and exalting the ideals of purity and innocence. The ballet takes on a magical atmosphere where unrequited love, the moon, death, the spirit realm and the mysteries of nature predominate, thus the so-called “white ballets” emerge.

In this classic performance, the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) pays homage and highlights the most beloved moments of the famous 19th century romantic “Ballets Blancs” by some of the era’s most revered choreographers and composers – The Sylphides, La Bayadere, Swan Lake and Giselle – featuring the international stars of Cuban ballet and soloists from CCBM Corp, with beautiful costumes and sets.

A performance is scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 8 p.m., at
Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, 1700 Washington Ave. The performance will also be streamed live.

CCBM was founded in 2007 by the late Cuban director Pedro Pablo Pena. Artistic Director Eriberto Jimenez is dedicated to furthering CCBM’s mission to promote and preserve the repertoire, technique and style of classical ballet, as evidenced by the renowned Cuban School of Ballet, and to promote Cuban and Latin ballet stars in exile who came to dance with the CCBM. and find a home here in the United States and abroad.
