Seven new dancers at Ballet Arkansas; the new season includes “Dracula”, “Sleeping Beauty” and a German-inspired Biergarten

Discover the seven new dancers of Ballet Arkansas: David J. Cummings, Sage Feldges, Celeste Lopez-Karanen (photo), Keith Newman, Layla Terrell, Andrew Przybylowicz and intern Andrew Parson. The ballet company announced the additions in a press release following a review of 900 applicants from 24 countries. He also announced a new season, with performances of “Dracula”, “Sleeping Beauty”, new works and tango traditions.

DRACULA – Just in time for Halloween, Ballet Arkansas presents a new version of its wildly popular multimedia production of ‘Dracula’, created in partnership with the team at Cranford Co. Experience a bold new retelling of Bram Stoker’s acclaimed novel, filled with chills world premiere imagery and choreography by Executive and Artistic Director, Michael Fothergill.

NUTCRACKER SPECTACULAR – The “Nutcracker Spectacular” is Arkansas’ largest and longest-running holiday production, featuring live music from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a cast and crew of nearly 400! Join Ballet Arkansas at the Robinson Center for an unforgettable celebration of the season – with exciting updates and additions for all to enjoy. And don’t forget to visit the region’s largest Nutcracker shop in the lobby and take a piece of the production home with you!

NUTCRACKER TEA – Experience one of Little Rock’s most anticipated holiday events and join Ballet Arkansas for a magical experience like no other. Guests will be transported to “Sweet Country” where they will enjoy tea time, activities, storytelling and an exclusive performance by Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and characters from the “Nutcracker Spectacular “. Perfect for families.

SLEEPING BEAUTY – Tchaikovsky’s ultimate score brings the world’s most beloved fairy tale to life this winter. “Sleeping Beauty” tells the story of Princess Aurora and the triumph of love over the evil Carabosse in 3 acts. With ornate costumes, virtuoso dance sequences, and a cast of over 100 community performers, the production is a must-watch this season!

MODERN MASTERS – Presented by the Stella Boyle Smith Trust, “Modern Masters” combines renowned works of neoclassical and contemporary dance with epic scores from the world’s greatest composers. Featuring live music from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, “Modern Masters” is an exhilarating collision of classical and modern, and is the highlight of Season 22|23.
