the Rosin box project, a contemporary San Diego ballet company, has moved to a new home at Dorothea Laub Dance Place in Liberty Station.
The company moved to Point Loma’s Installation Arts District last month, ahead of its list of summer shows.
“We are very grateful for the generous support of our community, and our Board of Directors and staff know that moving to Liberty Station is the right decision,” said Thom Dancy, CEO of the company. “We are excited to use the resources on campus to expand the reach of our work like never before. “
Having a studio will also facilitate the project’s plans for its next summer season, which includes a theater-walk event in July and a news weekend.

Both shows will be available for viewing online, with plans in place to accommodate a limited number of members of the public, in accordance with public health guidelines.
The company also hopes to expand its reach in education by offering adult classes from its new home studio, both virtually and as in-person hybrid classes where permitted.
In addition to its new home, the project announced last month that it was the recipient of funding from the Conrad Prebys Foundation. The grant, one of 41 offered to arts organizations, was $ 15,000.

With the onset of the pandemic, the company expanded its footprint to include an online platform, shifting its entire season to live performances, including a dance film festival, virtual classes, and digital educational workshops for elementary school students.
