After a two-year hiatus, the NEW ENGLISH BALLET THEATER is back!
The company, founded by its dynamic artistic director, Karen Pilkington-Miksa, is delighted to announce a series of summer festivals and theater performances in June and July.
NEBT’s program is designed to delight existing and new fans with exciting new works, repertoire favorites and electrifying performances from a world-class cast of dancers.
“We are delighted with the summer program,” says Karen Pilkington-Miksa. “With its diversity of dance styles and music, our season promises to offer something for everyone and we are particularly proud of the opportunity to showcase the versatility and talent of our dancers, choreographers and collaborators in a variety of fabulous settings and locations.
One of the highlights of the season will be the Royal Opera House’s Next Generation Festival at the Linbury Theater on 17 and 18 June. NEBT was invited to present Into the Spotlight, a program of works celebrating female choreographers. It includes Ruth Brill’s Domino, Morgann Runacre-Temple’s Rosamunde, an excerpt from Jenna Lee’s elegant ballet The Four Seasons, starring Max Richterdynamic re-composition of Vivaldi’s masterpiece, plus three new works by Daniela Cardim and Georgie Rose.
On July 10, the company will return for the third time to the Cheltenham Music Festival where they will also perform Into the Spotlight at the Everyman Theatre. On July 13 and 14, NEBT performs for the first time at the Grange Festival in Hampshire. In the spectacular setting of this colossal neo-classical mansion (just seven miles from Winchester!), NEBT will present the full version of Jenna Lee’s Four Seasons as part of the 2022 Dance@TheGrange program and feature the Royal’s first soloist Ballet and patron of NEBT Valentino Courgettes.

Over the past 12 years, NEBT has advanced the careers of over 100 dancers, many of whom have secured full-time positions with companies such as The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Company Wayne McGregorRambert, Scottish Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Norwegian National Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Estonia National Ballet and Vienna Festival Ballet, among others.
“We’re able to give dancers the kind of professional experience they need to have a chance of being accepted into a great professional company,” says Karen Pilkington-Miksa, “but we’ve gone from a simple path access to the dance industry to a sustained career development for talented dancers through a dedicated apprenticeship program which was launched in 2021. During this season we were able to offer apprenticeship contracts to seven recent graduates from English National Ballet School and Central School of Ballet and full contracts for our 2022 season based on their fantastic work last year. We are developing this practice as a model for the future through which we can offer longer contracts to dancers.
