The historic Louvre and Orsay museums in Paris, France opened their doors to a classic skateboarding and ballet performance captured in a beautifully shot film titled MUSEUM. The Musée d’Orsay described the premise of the staged video as “a contemporary love story set in a magical fairy-tale Paris and an exclusive journey to empty monuments.”
The film, which was directed by two young French directors Marin Troude and Tristan Helias, features a skateboarder who roams the streets of Paris and then goes to the Louvre. In one shot, he saw the glass structure of the Louvre overlap, and in another, invade the halls of the institution. On the contrary, the ballerina is represented playing in front of the imposing Celestial sphere sculpture of Baron Haussmann as well as the famous self-portrait of Vincent van Gogh. The couple end up meeting at the end and kissing. The three-minute poetic clip is set against a captivating musical score by Max Richter.
“The spectators are carried away by a cleverly orchestrated visual choreography in which skateboarding will for the first time become a new form of dance and rise to the rank of modern choreographic art. The union of two moving bodies or the love encountered both between the stage and the street ”, according to the Orsay press release.
