The Els Poblets duo of Elias and Pablo Fahle Diego won ballet gold at the 2022 Dance World Cup held in San Sebastián over the weekend.
The brothers, who won gold in the duo section on Sunday July 10, returned home on Monday to an enthusiastic welcome from family, friends and locals.
The pair are well known locally for winning last year’s competition where they won silver and bronze medals, but this year is the one everyone is talking about with Elias also winning gold in individual ballet, silver in neoclassical dance and bronze in a neoclassical quartet.
Pablo also achieved gold in his individual neoclassical dance and in the contemporary discipline.
The City Council of Els Poblets congratulated his beloved sons, who brought the village fame and international recognition.
The Dance World Cup attracts competitors from more than 70 countries around the world, with more than 125,000 young people between the ages of 4 and 25 competing to qualify for the final.
The Els Poblets duo not only won gold in ballet but brought home six medals in total, making them the kings of the 2022 Dance World Cup.
