Boston Ballet tickets go on sale Wednesday

Sun Valley Ballet will present the internationally acclaimed Boston Ballet led by Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen on June 24-25 at Sun Valley Pavilion.

The 7 p.m. performances will be Boston Ballet’s first appearance at Sun Valley. Nissinen began her career as a professional dancer in Finland at the National Ballet School of Finland. He danced with the Dutch National Ballet, the Basel Ballet and as a principal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet.

The Boston Ballet is made up of 69 dancers of 11 nationalities. As Artistic Director, Nissinen has cultivated a collection of classical, neo-classical and contemporary repertoire ranging from complete classical ballets to masterpieces by George Balanchine and world premieres by contemporary choreographers.

Each night will feature different works and will include works choreographed by Tiler Peck and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw. The June 24 program will include Balanchine’s “Chaconne pas de deux” and passages from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”.

The June 25 program will include Balanchine’s “Chaconne pas de deux” and Stephen Galloway’s “DEVIL’S/eye” premiere to music by the Rolling Stones.
